Bring it on...Ironman CDA

It's been a long journey and most of it has been fun. Some days have been tough and others very easy. I have only planned for a few days in advance because my workouts became hard. I changed plan plan a few times, but stuck to it.

It's been almost a year since I decided to sign up. I made a big decision and it's been worth it. Nicole and I drive up to Coeur d'Alene on Wednesday morning. Bright and early so we can get there by Friday afternoon. It's about a 16 hour drive and should be a fun road trip.

I am going to Ironman a little banged up. I had a bike crash today at the entrance to the Cherry Creek State Park over the weekend. I lost control because of the gravel/sand. I got some scrapes and more battle wounds to add to my collection. My wrist hurts pretty bad and pray that I just sprained it and will be healed by race day. I have one week to heal. That's crappy. I will make due and hopefully this will teach me something important. (not to crash a week before your race)

Checkout Ironman.com on June 22nd and checkout my progress. The race starts at 7am Pacific Time. My bib # is 61. I will be racing and at full force. I have been training hard and will try my best. Here are my goals:
1) Finish
2) Finish before dark
3) Finish in 11-13 hours

Wish me luck and pray for some super fast healing.

Eric-so sorry to hear about your crash. Take it easy-you will heal quickly. Hey-I am on the way to CDA and the it is light up here until at least 9:30 to no chance you will not make it before dark!
See you there!:)

Went to the doctor today (just to be on the safe side). The x-ray looks good and I don't have anything broken and no fractures. RICE all the way till race day!! He gave me a brace to protect my wrist. Thanks for all the encouragement
